1. What did you think was most difficult about the course?
-The most difficult thing about the course was not being in class most of the semester. Since we were not in class we didnt have a lot of time to meet and work on our projects in class.

2. What do you think was easiest?
-I think having to write these blogs was the easiest because I was able to write them anytime and not have a deadline to do them by.

3. What did you learn about working in teams with peers?

-What I learned is that three heads are better then one. As a group we were able to create projects that were high quality and had many different ideas put into it.

4. What was most challenging about working with peers at a distance?

-I learned that it is harder then it looks to work in groups because of how busy everyone is due to jobs and school and extra activities. 

5. What was helpful about working with a team?
-The most helpful thing about working with a team was that if one person could not show up then the others could carry on with the project and we would not be behind on our work.

6. What was most challenging about working for a client?
-The most challenging for working for a client was how demanding and percise the work had to be to get a good response from our client.

7. What were your favorite technolgy tools to use? Least favorite? Why?

-My favorite technology tool that we used was the second life website, it allowed me to create a character and chat with people from around the world. The least favorite technology tool that I used was moodle. I didnt understand why for somethings we had to put on there and some we had to email and some we had to put on word press. Whats the point, why didnt we just use one website?

8. What do you feel you learned in this course about solving problems?
-I learned that I cant solve all problems by myself and that I sometimes need the help of others.
9. What would you do differenly if you could take the course again?

-I would ask the teacher to have more class time to work inclass on our projects rather then having to go on our own time since most of our free time in during our class period.

What applications do you use most often on your computer?

I use three applications that most on my computer,windows media player and google chrome.

Why?

I use them the most because it allows me to do work when i listen to my music which is for fun. 

Is it related to school?

Work?

I use the internet a lot to do homework because now a days all my teachers use Blackboard and email to communicate for homework and lectures.

Fun? 

Whenever i use the internet for fun, i am on facebook because it allows me to communicate with friends through chat and it allows me to see videos and pictures of my friends and family. Also i always have my Window Media Player in the background to listen to my music.

What would you rather be doing right now?

I would rather be hanging out with my twin friends playing some ice hockey with them.

Nov 10th

Go out and look up alternative tools besides Power Point.

Which ones did you find?

The two things i have found besides powerpoint are Word and Excel.

Are they better?

They are not better because Word is not a fluent and Excel is really boring.

Worse?

They are both worse.

Why?

Powerpoint is so much better because you are able to add in videos, sounds and captions and everything flows in a fluent manner.

Find an example of a really great Power Point online. Make sure you include the link in your blog post. Tell me why it is truly great!

I found this really good powerpoint presentation dealing with coal ash. It makes a great presentation because its simple but has great information and pictures that make it eye catching.

Also, find a really, really bad one. Give me a link to that, too. Tell me why it is atrocious.

I wasnt able to find an example of a bad powerpoint but i do know what makes a back powerpoint. The number one thing is that if there is too much going on on the page, words pictures ect… The second main thing is if the powerpoint seems boring because it is only done in black and white.

Your blog for this week is a reflection on the semester so far.

What has gone well?

The thing that has gone well through out the semester is how well our group has worked together. We have not had any problems so far. 

What has been problematic?

The only thing that has been problematic is the fact that we didnt have class much so if i had a question i had to wait a week or two before we have class again to get a full answer.

What have will you do differently for the rest of the semester?

What i will do differently  for the rest of the semester is that i am not going to leave things like the blogs till that last minute, that applies to all of my other classes.

Oct 20th

Talk about your experience of the last couple of weeks in terms of working on the Tasks, using the software, and working with your Team.

It has been a positive experience working with my group. Overall things have been done on time and well. Also i have become more familiar with the software that has been introduced like excel and powerpoint. The last thing is that the tasks have allowed me to be able to work with a great group and be able to learn more about word software.

What are the most important tools you have used up until now and why?

The most important tool we have used is a computer, we could not have completed any of our tasks without it and we would have struggled getting together with out groups because we would not have had email to communicate with.

Oct 13th

This will be a bit more free-form this week. Talk about how your process for working on Ray’s Task is different from your old team process.

Why is it different?

The process was very different this time around, we never met once to talk about the project we did everything online. We used text message and email to get our points to each other. We did this this time because all three of us did not have the time to get together in person to work on it because of work and school schedules.

Oct 6th

This week, I would like you to think about the role of computers in your life as a student.

How has it changed things for the better?

Computers have my life in such a huge way. They make my life easier especially having to do with research. If i am running behind on a paper, i dont need to go to the library or bookstore to get my information i can just go online, in my dormroom, and finish it on time.

The worse?

The only bad thing that I can think of is that sometimes i get sucked into things like facebook or bored.com. It sometimes takes away from my studies because i get so caught up.

What would you like to see change with learning using technology?

So far I cant think of anything that i was change. 

How can you learn better with technology?

The only way that i think i can learn have to get better with technology is by taking classes by people who actually know what they are doing.

Sept 22nd

Describe your experience with completing Hester’s Task. Give details about how your group did their work, what kind of feedback you received, and how you felt in general about the process. Also, tell what you will do differently on the next Task.

What our group did during Hesters task was that we split the project up into 3 smaller parts so that everyone was able to help and it seemed to go by a lot faster. The feedback that we got back was that overall it was pretty good except for the part having to deal with the history of the internet. They said that it was not at the level of a 6 and 7 year old. I was pretty confident about our process because it allowed us to get everything turned in on time. I dont think i will do anything different for the next task.

Sept 29th

Talk about your experience with Leto’s Predicament.

What went well?

The thing that really worked well with our group was that we had a journalism major which made things a lot easier and our final project turned out more professional.

What was problematic?

We really had no problems during this project. My group members really worked well and we were able to finish in a timely manner. 

Did you have enough knowledge of the appropriate programs in order to do the work, or did you need more?

For this project, i knew all the programs and didnt need help or anything more.

How did your Team work together?

We worked together great, there were no problems that I knew of. 

What was your role?

My role was the editor.

What did you do?

I had to make sure everything flowed and was correctly spelling.

Are you happy with your Solution?

I am very happy, I think it was our best work done so far.

What will you do differently on the next Task?

I dont think I would do anything different for our next Task.
Finally, how important is communication with your Team and your Client in creating a product and coming up with a solution?

It was a huge part, except when we needed to type our final project.
